I designed the Moonshack collection of natural mists and face and body oils to be part of your daily rituals – inviting pause and sensory anchoring through scent and touch.

The Story of Moonshack

Just as the tides follow the moon, we too move in cycles – expanding and contracting, active and still. By moving with our natural rhythms rather than against them – embracing rest as much as activity – we create the conditions for something quieter and more sustainable.

Moonshack exists at the intersection of psychotherapy and somatic experience. Shaped by the understanding that while the mind interprets experience, the body holds its own wisdom – and that scent, touch, and conscious ritual are not incidental to how we feel. They are part of it.““

Shop the Collection

Each product in the Moonshack collection is developed from the same understanding that shapes the brand – that the body responds to what surrounds it. That scent, texture, and ritual are not incidental to wellbeing. They are part of it.

From the Sleep Mist to the cold-pressed White Lotus Face Serum, every formulation is botanical, intentional, and made in England. Created to be returned to.

“Sustainability is at the heart of Moonshack. As a lifelong vegetarian and passionate environmental advocate, I am committed to using organic ingredients wherever possible, working with local suppliers, and using handmade, low impact manufacturing methods. Every formulation is housed in Miron violet glass – chosen to preserve botanical integrity and support a circular approach to packaging.”

A Clinical Foundation

Sophia Barton-Pink is an accredited psychotherapist and clinical hypnotherapist with over two decades of practice. Her work has always existed at the intersection of clinical expertise and somatic awareness — recognising that while the mind interprets experience, the body holds its own form of intelligence.

The Evolution of Moonshack

Moonshack grew from that conviction. After years of working with the relationship between mind, body and sensory experience, Sophia began to explore how botanical scent and ritual could serve as a bridge between conscious awareness and embodied presence.

Working with aromatherapists and bioscience specialists, she developed intentional, small-batch formulations — botanical ingredients selected for their sensory quality and material integrity, housed in Miron violet glass to preserve what is inside.

Rooted in Experience

Sophia’s relationship with stillness and nature runs deep. Raised in the New Forest, she spent five years living across Asia — Malaysia, Vietnam, Japan, and spending time in India — where she spent tome exploring meditation, including time spent with a guru on the banks of the Ganges and where her interest in mindfullness deepened. These years shaped her understanding of conscious living and informed the Moonshack tree symbol — a representation of rootedness, growth, and the quiet transformation found in every mindful moment.

A vegetarian since the age of twelve, her commitment to conscious, intentional living is reflected in every formulation — natural, vegan, and made in England.

  • Rituals are different from habits. While habits often happen unconsciously, rituals are intentional acts that invite presence — a deliberate pause in the day, a moment to step out of autopilot and into awareness.

When you apply a facial oil, it might be a hurried necessity, or it can become a ritual of care. The difference lies not in the act itself but in the quality of attention you bring to it.

A ritual invites you to slow down — to notice the texture, the scent, the sensation of the moment. To arrive rather than rush through.

Moonshack formulations are designed as vessels for these intentional moments. Whether woven into a morning practice, an evening pause, or a quiet midday return to yourself.

  • Moonshack exists at the intersection of psychotherapy and somatic experience. Shaped by the understanding that while the mind interprets experience, the body holds its own wisdom –and that scent, touch, and conscious ritual are not incidental to how we feel. They are part of it.

  • Scent travels along one of thinitial emotional responses

Scent is perhaps our most personal sense. A particular aroma can carry us back instantly — to a grandmother’s garden, a forest walk, a moment of stillness we had almost forgotten. This is not coincidence. It is the nature of how scent is processed — directly, without the filtering of conscious thought.

In mindfulness practice, scent can become a point of return. A way of anchoring attention in the present moment — stepping away from the noise of the day and back into embodied awareness.

It is this understanding that informs how we work with botanical aroma at Moonshack. Not as a quick fix, but as a sensory reference point. Something the body learns to recognise and move towards.

rituals intended to promote a sense of ease and relaxation.

The personal dimension of scent - how certain aromas can instantly carry us back to a grandmother’s garden, a forest walk, or a moment of peace - is why mindful exploration can feel so rewarding. These associations may be enhanced when scent is included in a calming ritual, such as mindful breathing, allowing us to discover which aromas unlock our own sense of calm and connection.

In mindfulness practice, focusing on scent can be one way to anchor attention in the present moment, step away from racing thoughts, and reconnect with a sense of embodied awareness.

Note: Memory, mood, and emotional regulation involve many interconnected brain regions, and the effects and experiences of scent is unique to each individual.

  • Each Moonshack formulation is finished with a sound bath using alchemy crystal singing bowls and gong. Sophia holds both Level One and Level Two certifications in Quantum Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls from Sound Universe London and works exclusively with Crystal Tones® bowls — the world’s leading maker of alchemy crystal singing bowls. She takes these instruments regularly into her local community through monthly sound bath sessions.

Among her collection, two bowls hold a particular place. Her first — an Ocean Bowl, B-3rd octave — and a 12-inch Rose Quartz E Alchemy Bowl, whose resonance she returns to again and again. Her Earth Gong, handmade in Germany, completes the practice.

Yes, this is the woo woo part. And we own it completely.

It is Sophia’s belief that sound supercharges the vibrational energy of everything it touches — including what goes into every Moonshack bottle. Before each product leaves, it is bathed in sound.

This is not a clinical claim. It is a conviction — and it is present in every bottle we make.

Professional Background

As founder of Moonshack, I draw on my professional training and experience to provide educational context around wellness practices. This background informs my philosophy, but is entirely separate from Moonshack’s product claims. Our products are not medical treatments and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Please consult a healthcare professional for any medical concerns. Individual experiences may vary.

Clinical Practice

With over two decades of experience as an accredited psychotherapist and clinical hypnotherapist, I have had the privilege of supporting people through some of their most vulnerable moments. I have witnessed how overwhelming emotions can disconnect us from our bodies — and how the relationship between mind, body and felt experience is central to lasting wellbeing.

A Broader Practice

My clinical work expanded to include somatic awareness, sound and breathwork — disciplines that work beyond the thinking mind, towards the body’s own capacity for stillness and reorientation. This understanding shapes how I approach conscious living and informs the philosophy behind every Moonshack formulation.

It is from this intersection of clinical training, somatic practice, and a lifelong relationship with nature that Moonshack was born.

  • After over two decades of clinical practice, one understanding has remained constant — that the mind, body and sensory experience are not separate. They are in continual conversation.

It is from this understanding that Moonshack was shaped. Not as an extension of therapy, but as an expression of the same conviction that runs through it — that how we tend to ourselves in the quieter moments of everyday life is not incidental. It is foundational.

  • Conscious living is not about perfection. It is about returning — again and again — to a quality of presence and attention in the everyday

We are responsive beings. Our energy shifts with our environment, our breath, our relationships, and the quality of our attention. When we create space to notice this — to move with awareness rather than on autopilot — something shifts.

Small rituals matter. The way we begin a morning, the pause before sleep, the moments we choose to arrive rather than rush through. Moonshack formulations are designed to accompany those moments — an invitation to the body to settle, and to the attention to gather.

  • Lasting change comes not from grand gestures but from small, consistent acts of attention. The morning ritual returned to. The evening pause made deliberate. The breath taken before rushing on.

These are not luxuries. They are the architecture of a life lived with greater presence and intention.

There is a particular quality that develops when a practice becomes familiar — when a scent, a texture, a moment of stillness becomes something the body recognises and moves towards. Not habit for its own sake. But a deepening.

Moonshack formulations are designed to accompany that deepening.
